Dream catchers are much more than just a cute decoration for your room.
The act of creating the dreamcatcher is sacred and an important traditional facet of Indigenous culture.
They represent traditions and legends that have been passed down orally over generations and are a recognizable cultural symbol.
Indigenous people believe that the night is filled of both good and bad dreams. When a dream catcher is hung above or near the place where one sleeps, it moves freely in the night air and catches the dreams as they drift by. Bad dreams are caught in the web and perish with the light of day. Good dreams easily slip through the center, working their way down the web, catching all the good energies of the beads and adornments, then float down the feathers and into the dreamer's head.
You're invited you to take a journey with me and learn how Indigenous people craft these sacred objects.
Hi, I am Rose.
I reside in the Pabineau First Nation, which is situated in New Brunswick, Canada.
For 25 years I have been creating dreamcatchers and have had the opportunity to teach many others how to make their own.
Many people have told me about the improvements they have had in their sleep patterns by incorporating one of my dreamcatchers into their homes.
By investing in this program you will be able to understand the history of dreamcatchers, know where to purchase your supplies, and learn how to create your own.
I invite you on journey with me, that will enable you and your family to learn an important tradition of our indigenous people, create beautiful pieces of art for your home, and enjoy a peaceful sleep.
